Walking in the pastures of the Rush Ranch Open Space in Fairfield, at the border of the in the Central Valley of California, I came about this pastoral scene along Grizzly Island Road. The temporary lake filled up with water, the lone tree, the green grass about to turn brown, reminded me of generalized scenes from my childhood, from far away. Don't most cattle farms look alike? It was a beautiful day out in the field chasing landscapes, and I was rewarded with the most charming lone tree where one hill encounters another.
