The story goes that two waves were rolling side-by-side towards the rocks on the beach. One looked at the other and said, “oh no I am going to crash and die”, to which the other responded “I am not going to die, for I am part of the ocean”.
I took this photograph on a sunny blue-sky day on the Pacific coast, at the Schoolhouse beach, one of my favorite stops by Highway one. The moody feeling of this image was achieved with the use of neutral density filters to slow down the speed of the water and conversion to black and white, accentuating the contrast and dark tones.
