The water tower of the University of California at Davis, which can be viewed from the highway I-80, is an iconic symbol of the UC Davis and the city of Davis. The university itself occupies a good proportion of the city, both in space and population wise. Downtown is very small, featuring a few restaurants, arts galleries, and independent stores. I took this image on a sunday morning in the spring, when the leaves had come back to the trees. My plan was to photograph the Mondavi Center but I did not resist taking this picture from the Mondavi's parking lot.
