Description
It was very early in the morning before the sun came out when we saw this Autumn scene with Aspen trees. My friend and I were following the google maps of fall colors, and one patch was indicated on Little Walker road, a narrow dirt road near Bridgeport, California, USA. The place did not disappoint, awith patches of yellow and orange Aspen tress intermingled with green coniferous tress on a rocky terrain
Fall colors in the Eastern Sierras of California are patchy and are mostly confined to Aspens on the hills and along rivers and creeks we can also find cottonwood. Both belong to the genus Populus in the family Salicaceae. There are about 25–30 species of deciduous flowering plants in this group, native to most of the Northern Hemisphere.
