Artist's Description

The ocean is moody, and on that day, the mood of the ocean at Fort Ross Cove was dark.
This photograph in black and white was produced with the aid of neutral density filters to allow for a long exposure and slow down the movement of the water, causing a shape to form on the beach, the shape of a face.
Fort Ross is a former Russian fortress in California, Sonoma County. In this Russian settlement, people hunted otters for fur and grew wheat for a colony in Alaska, from 1812 to 1841.
